Mom and Me and Mickey Make Three!

Sad news for the kids...we've had to postpone our Disney trip. Great news for my mom and me...we are going, just the two of us, in March 2016 (13-17th). First trip for me to Disneyland sans kids, first time on a plane with my mom. To say I'm excited is an understatement. We've already bought the airline tickets and booked the hotel. Fundraising for just myself will be a piece of cake. I look forward to eating at the Blue Bayou, drinking a glass of wine in California Adventures, standing in line without a chorus of whines and complaints, leisurely shopping in shops with lots of breakable items. I can't wait!!!!

Change of travel date again...November 9, 2015. A bit sooner, so that is exciting. I've started saving in earnest and the hotel has been booked. All our loose change goes into our Churro Fund jar and I've earmarked certain earnings for our trip (drop-ins paid in cash, my new twice monthly house cleaning job, etsy proceeds paid via paypal and $50 per Michael's paychecks.) Just this week I managed to stash away $235.

Delays!

We had hoped to be going to Disneyland in March of 2015, but we are pushing it back until December 2015. We recently moved and with my husband's new job, he won't be eligible for vacation until next October. I read that the least busy time in Disneyland is the first two weeks of December. My birthday falls during that time (12/12) so why not enjoy my birthday in my favorite place, get to see all the magical Christmas decorations and give our kids the best Christmas gift ever? Now to plan out some fundraising events...

I have an Etsy shop and all the proceeds sent to PayPal are earmarked for our Disneyland trip. Today I sold this Dumbo inspired dress to a woman living in England, for her daughter to wear to Disneyland Paris this summer. The Dumbo dress is my favorite of all the dresses I've made and Emma will wear hers when we go. It gives me a thrill to send my creations out into the world to be loved by other little girls. And I love adding to our Disney fund when one is ordered.

Gearing up again!

I was sadly amiss in my posts prior to our last Disney vacation in March 2013. It was a fabulous trip, of course (more on that another time). We have decided to make it our goal to return to Disneyland March 2015. It will be a fun challenge seeing that M has been unemployed for nearly 20 months with no prospects pending. I have all my ventures in full force, so hoping that will pave the way financially to our goal. I have earmarked all my etsy profits (paypal payments) to our Disney fund. I'm planning other fundraisers also. We have always managed to get there when we set out to do so and I'm confident we can do it again.

Less Than A Year

We are in the midst of Spring Break, which is when our official countdown to Disney began. My friend and I are all a twitter with plans for raising funds (yard sale, etsy sales etc.) and we opened a designated savings account for our trip, with funds transferred each pay day. I have a bazillion craft ideas buzzing around in my head, things to make and sell. Christmas will be greatly scaled down, allocating the savings towards Disneyland adventures. I'm already thinking colors for our daily dress-alike wardrobes, and special treats to make for the road. Yes, a year seems on the outside a very long time to wait, but with birthdays and summer camping trips, the start of a new school year, holidays and babies being born, it will go by in a flash. I can smell Main Street now :)

Countdown to Disneyland March 2013

Provided the Mayans were incorrect and the world doesn't end on 12/21/12...we will be traveling to Disneyland again in March 2013. Our last trip was so magical, especially considering it was the first trip for my best friend and her family, that we all decided it was worth repeating. The official countdown will begin after the holidays.
